· Audi accelerates cooperation with Chinese network technology company to sign a letter of intent
On September 11, Audi announced that it has joined hands with FAW-Volkswagen to sign a letter of intent with Chinese network technology companies such as Alibaba, Baidu and Tencent to strengthen its digital services business in China.
Audi, a luxury car brand owned by Volkswagen Group, agreed to deepen its cooperation with Chinese Internet technology companies to provide more digital services to China, the world's largest auto market. At this stage, the Volkswagen Group is mired in a scandal of emissions test cheating, and is unable to fully engage in competition with global automakers to strengthen computer-aided services.
Volkswagen CEO previously said that it needs to be in a dominant position in customer relationship maintenance, which is why Volkswagen has stopped cooperation with Uber, a US car-sharing service provider, and technology giants Google and Apple.
Through an agreement with Baidu search engine, Audi aims to promote the application of smart phone APP in its branded car; cooperation with social network and online game group Tencent includes the use of WeChat APP in the car; cooperation with Alibaba It aims to develop more real-time traffic information services and 3D maps.
In May of this year, the Volkswagen Group purchased a $300 million stake in the European taxi company Gett.
